We’re proud supporters of Music for Autism!

Music for Autism

Inclusive Play launch their brand new Music Box series this month which brings the valuable experience of music and sound straight to your local play area! The Music Box is designed with a table top height perfect for wheelchair users and also for children and adults to stand at. The braille lettering helps to engage more children as well as the colourful style of the Music Box range.

Bringing music into play areas really was inspired through the charity Music for Autism who bring music and joy to children with autism.

John Lubbock, co founder, and selected musicians from his world class Orchestra of St John’s, an internationally renowned ensemble have played at the Royal Albert Hall, the Berlin Philharmonic and the Carnegie Hall in New York, and stages about 30 performances each year for the paying public. But alongside this it spends 40 days a year at schools, playing to children who have autism. Over 11 years the OSJ has performed for more than 35,000 autistic children. In the UK there are 106,000 school children with autism, according to the National Autistic Society, including 61,570 in the state system.

We are delighted to support such a valuable project. John Lubbock says of Inclusive Play:

‘What you  are doing is wonderful – parents need companies like you to recognise the wide needs of our children’

FSB 2013 – Shape the change

Exhibition center in Cologne

Playgrounds, the world over, are where many childhood memories are made. Most of us remember our local park, the friends we played with and what our favourite piece of play equipment was. So who are the people involved in creating the spaces that so many of us enjoy? Many of them you can meet at the International Trade Fair for Amenity Areas, Sports and Pool Facilities (FSB) in Cologne, Germany from 22nd to 25th October 2013.

Inclusive Play will be showcasing unique playground products along with 1,000 exhibitors from the sports, games, swimming pool, sauna and wellness sectors and more than 25,000 trade visitors are expected in Cologne it will be an eventful show.

FSB 2013 is the first international showing for Inclusive Play, having launched the Inclusive range in the playground market in France already, we are very excited to show the rest of the European industry who we are and what we do. Exhibiting at stand B30 in hall 2.2 we will be showcasing two of our latest products as well as launching our musical range.

More of what you want

Product Development at Inclusive Play takes time because we are always challenging the traditional ideals of play. We have to challenge ourselves to think about all the children who will want to use a play item which means considering every need from children who are visually or hearing impaired to children with physical impairments or sensorial processing disorders.

As any good designer knows these challenges often result in better, more interesting and unique products.

We now have a clear product development plan that looks at all needs and what play values have the most importance to each need. It is from this starting point we can start the creative process. We also look for feedback from expert organisations to help us to realise the right products.

This year we are delighted to be bringing a brand new product range into the Inclusive Play family as well as some more sensory play panels. Keep coming back to visit us here as we will be keeping you posted!
