NRPA Annual Conference

Posted on: No Comments

We recently launched our partnership with GameTime, a PlayCore company, at the National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) Annual Conference in Baltimore. NRPA is the leading non-profit organisation dedicated to the advancement of public parks, recreation and conservation – their vision is for everyone to have easy access to park and recreation opportunities, which ties in very closely with our aim of making all parks inclusive.

The three-day event brought together over 8,000 park and recreation professionals, citizens, and play equipment suppliers, with over 400 exhibitors. Paul Hoenigmann, Director of Inclusive Play, attended the exhibition to launch the partnership which makes GameTime the exclusive distributor of a selection of our products in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Three of our highly sought-after products were launched at the exhibition, the IP09 Fusion, IP20 Infinity Bowl and the IP16 Butterfly (known as the Surf Board in the US). The exhibition was a fantastic success with the play equipment being enjoyed by all, particularly the Infinity Bowl which seemed to be spinning all day long! This is a hugely exciting time for Inclusive Play – we are very proud to have partnered with GameTime and their dealer network and we look forward to helping customers in the US, Canada and Mexico achieve inclusivity within their playgrounds.

Have a look at this twitter link, even the crab loved the Infinity Bowl!

Red-Tailed Hawk Park – Aurora, Colorado

Posted on: No Comments

A new 8,000 square foot inclusive playground has recently opened in Aurora. The Red-Tailed Hawk Park, opened back in August, was inspired by a 9-year-old boy named Ashaun who uses a wheelchair, making exploring playgrounds extremely difficult for him.

Jamie Jenkins, Ashaun’s adopted mother, said he “used to have the ability to play but through child abuse lost that ability. … Although he couldn’t verbalize exactly what he wanted his wish to be, we tried to really think about what would make him the happiest.”

The new park is fully inclusive with purposeful play equipment and experiences that every child should be able to enjoy. It features a zip line, iSwing, Wheelspin and a range of sensory elements. Ashaun can now play with children his age, something he hasn’t been able to do for a long time.

Other park amenities include sports fields, picnic tables, BBQ grills, restrooms, and shelter that accommodates up to 40 people. This makes the park a brilliant day out for the family – take a picnic and have a day of fun filled activities.

It is wonderful to see young children enjoying the new playground – look at this young boy on the iSwing for example.

This is one of our first iSwing’s in the US and we are so glad to see it being enjoyed by everyone! We also loved the T-shirts being worn at the grand opening. Let’s make parks inclusive not accessible!

Another parent, Justin Fantazzi, said he was delighted to see his son Braydon having fun. “He’s never been on a swing before, never had access to a real playground.. that’s what we strive for as parents of special needs children — to be included and have fun, just like he is right now.”

We look forward to helping with many more projects like this in the US!

Inclusive Play® and GameTime Announce North American Distribution Agreement

Posted on: No Comments

Partnership will bring an innovative line of Inclusive Play products to playgrounds in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

(EDINBURGH, SEPT. 18, 2019) – Inclusive Play is pleased to announce an expanded partnership with GameTime, a PlayCore company. Headquartered in the Fort Payne, Alabama.

Inclusive Play is the only company in Europe to specialise solely in inclusive play equipment and we are excited to be launching our products, manufactured in the UK, into North America. GameTime is a leading manufacturer of inclusive playgrounds, custom play spaces and outdoor fitness equipment with global distribution.

In 2018 GameTime began distributing Inclusive Play’s IP12 Wheelspin the first roll on roundabout developed on the market. The first of its kind. This extended partnership will make GameTime the exclusive distributor of Inclusive Play products in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Paul Hoenigmann, Director of Inclusive Play said “Our mission is to design, develop and manufacture quality products that enable children – no matter what their ability – to play together. With GameTime, we will be able to bring inclusive play to more people. It’s an exciting opportunity with a leading manufacturer in the play industry, a company with inclusion as a core value.”

Among the Inclusive Play products available are the IP20 Infinity Bowl, a single user spinner with a unique design to allow access and self-movement; IP09 Fusion, a multi-user spinner designed at transfer height for people of all abilities providing additional postural support when in use; IP16 Butterfly, a modern, inclusive take on the traditional seesaw; IP05 Orb our unique tactile & sensory play element.

Parks and recreation leaders from across America will get a first look at these new products at the 2019 National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) Conference and Expo September 24-26, in Baltimore, Maryland. Visitors will be able to try out the products for themselves and learn from Inclusive Play representatives what makes them beneficial for community playgrounds.

“NRPA is a great showcase for Inclusive Play’s products and for our new partnership with them” said Tom Norquist, Sr. Vice President with PlayCore, “Inclusive Play has long made it their mission to adapt popular playground activities or create innovative new products that make play possible for children of all abilities. Their commitment to inclusive play mirrors our own. We are proud to partner with them to bring their unique offering to North American parks and playgrounds.”

About Inclusive Play: We aspire to create products that will excite everyone and make it possible for all children to play together. We strive to create unique products that punctuate, not define a play space, embracing the true meaning of inclusion. To do this, we look at playground favourites and the general play experiences enjoyed by many children. We also think about the barriers to play for children who may not normally have access to all equipment. We give those products a makeover – or we start from scratch – and come up with new ideas that all children will love.

About GameTime: Commercial playground equipment is what we do best. GameTime is a leading commercial playground equipment manufacturer — we’ve been building playgrounds since 1929. We work with park and recreation professionals, schools, landscape architects and youth organizations to create outdoor recreation solutions for every generation. Play and fitness projects should be fun, fast, and easy. These solutions shortcuts are a great first step to guide you in the right direction. We bring together the right corporate, civic and nonprofit partners to build healthy, active communities that make the world a better place for children and families.

About PlayCore: PlayCore is a purpose driven Company committed to building stronger communities around the world by advancing play and recreation. The company infuses scholarly learning, through its Centre for Outreach, Research, and Education, into its comprehensive family of brands. PlayCore combines best-in-class educational programming with the most comprehensive portfolio of play and recreation products and services to create tailored solutions that match the unique needs of each community served.
